( 1 ) The Vice-Chancellor may, on the recommendation of the Management Council, supported by a majority of not less than two-third of its members present at its meeting, such majority comprising not less than one-half of its members, remove the name of any person from the register of graduates for such period as the Vice-Chancellor thinks fit, for any of the reasons mentioned in sub-section ( 2 ) of section 131. ( 2 ) No action under this section shall be taken unless the person concerned is, as prescribed by the Statutes, given an opportunity of being heard in his defence.
