( 1 ) This Act may be called the Maharashtra Public Libraries Act, 1967. ( 2 ) It extends to the whole of the State of Maharashtra. ( 3 ) It shall come into force on such date 1 as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette , appoint in that behalf; and different dates may be appointed for bringing this Act into force in different areas of this State.
