(1) The Academic Council shall consist of the Vice-Chancellor and such other members as may be prescribed by the Statutes. (2) The Vice-Chancellor shall be the ex-officio Chairperson of the Academic Council. (3) The Academic Council shall be the principal academic body of the university and shall, subject to the provisions of this Act and the rules, Statutes and Ordinances made thereunder, co-ordinate and exercise general supervision over the academic policies of the university.
