(1) The Registrar shall be appointed by the President in such manner and on such terms and conditions of service as may be specified by the Statutes. (2) The Registrar shall be the Chief Administrative Officer of the university. Subject to the decisions of the authorities of the university, he shall have the power to enter into an agreement, contract, sign documents and authenticate records on behalf of the university. He shall exercise such powers and perform such duties as may be specified by the Statutes. (3) The Registrar shall be the Member-Secretary of the Governing Body, Board of Management and Academic Council, but shall not have the right to vote. (4) The Registrar shall be the custodian of the records, the common seal and such other property of the university as the Governing Body may, commit to his charge. (5) The Registrar shall exercise such other powers and perform such other duties as may be prescribed by or under this Act, or, as may be conferred on him by the Statutes or, may be assigned to him, by the Vice-Chancellor, from time to time.
