Grant of leave of absence to the Commissioner, 10[Director] or Deputy Commissioner.— (1) Leave of absence may be granted, from time to time— (a) to the Commissioner, by the 11[12[State] Government], with the assent of 13[Standing Committee]. (b) to 14[the Director or a Deputy Commissioner] by 15[the Commissioner]. (3) Appointment and remuneration of acting Commissioner or acting 6[Director or a Deputy Commissioner].— During any absence of the Commissioner or of 7[the Director or a Deputy Commissioner] the 8[9[State] Government] or the corporation may appoint a person to act as Commissioner or 10[as the Director or a Deputy Commissioner,] as the case may be. Every person so appointed shall exercise the powers and perform the duties conferred and imposed by this Act or by any other enactment at time in force on the person for whom he is appointed to act, and shall be subject to the same liabilities, restrictions and conditions to which the said person is liable, and shall receive such monthly salary, within the limits prescribed in sections 57, 11[58 and 58A], for 12[the Commissioner, Director and a Deputy Commissioner] as 13[the 14[State] Government] or the corporation, respectively, shall determine.
