What to be deemed municipal markets and slaughter-houses.— 2[(1)] All markets and slaughter-houses which belong to or are maintained by the corporation shall be called “municipal markets” or “municipal slaughter-houses”. All other markets and slaughter-houses shall be deemed to be private. 3[(2) The corporation may also establish markets for the purchase and sale of or trading in agricultural produce 4[, animals, elegant or exotic birds and elegant or exotic fishes (except those animals, birds and fishes prohibited under the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 (53 of 1972) or under any other law for the time being in force)] specified in Schedule JJ.
