In the event of the office of any councillor elected or appointed under the provisions of paragraph 11, 12 or 13 becoming vacant for any reason before the expiry of the term specified in paragraph 14 the vacancy shall be filled, as soon as may be by the election or appointment as the case may be, of a duly qualified person thereto and the provisions of paragraph 11, 12 or 13 shall apply, as far as may be, to such election or appointment: 1 These words were substituted for the words “Bombay Municipal Corporation Act” by Mah. 25 of 1996, s. 2, Schedule. 2 These words were substituted for the words “Bombay Municipal Corporation Act” by Mah. 25 of 1996, s. 2, Schedule. 528 The Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act [1888 : III Provided that if the office of any councillor becomes vacant within four months of the date on which the term of office prescribed in paragraph 14 is due to expire, it shall not be necessary to fill such vacancy.
