( 1 ) This Act may be called the Maharashtra Krishna Valley Development Corporation Act, 1996. ( 2 ) It shall extend to the Krishna River Valley in the State of Maharashtra and such other area or areas, as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette , specify. ( 3 ) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 25 th January, 1996.
