( 1 ) The Highway Authority may, as it thinks fit, authorise and delegate its powers to any officer, for the purposes of this Act. ( 2 ) The Highway Authority and the authorised officers shall exercise and perform such duties, as may be prescribed. ( 3 ) The Competent Authority may, as it thinks fit, authorise and delegate its powers to the officer not below the rank of Deputy Collector, for the purposes of this Act.
