( 1 ) The Chancellor, the Pro-Chancellor, the first Vice-Chancellor and the First Members of then Executive Council and the Academic Council of the University and all persons, who may hereafter becomes such executives, officers and members so long as they continue to hold office or membership are hereby constituted a body corporate by the name of the Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University, and such body corporate shall have perpetual succession and a common seal and may sue and be sued by that name. ( 2 ) The University shall be competent to acquire and hold property, both movable and immoveable, to lease, sell or otherwise transfer any moveable or immovable property which may vest in or be acquired by it for the purposes of the University, and to contract and to do all other things necessary for the purpose of this Act. ( 3 ) The headquarter of the University shall be located at such place, as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette , appoint. ( 4 ) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section ( 3 ), the State Government may, at any time, by notification in the Official Gazette , direct that the University shall have its headquarter at the place other than that appointed under sub-section ( 3 ).
