( 1 ) An Associate Dean shall be a whole-time salaried officer of the University and shall be appointed by the Vice-Chancellor on the recommendation of the Selection Committee constituted under section 50. ( 2 ) An Associate Dean shall be responsible for conducting teaching, research and extension education programmes at all levels within the limits of prescribed jurisdiction and shall also be the Principal of a constituent college. ( 3 ) An Associate Dean shall exercise such other powers and perform such other duties as are laid down by or under this Act and as may be prescribed.
