( 1 ) The Dean of each Faculty shall be responsible for the organisation and conduct of teaching research and extension education work of the Department included in the Faculty, and for that purpose shall pass such orders as may be necessary in consultation with the Head of Department concerned. ( 2 ) The Dean shall look into and be responsible for the due observance of the Statutes and Regulations relating to the Faculty. ( 3 ) He shall preside over the meetings of the Faculty. ( 4 ) He shall formulate and present policies to the Academic Council for its consideration. ( 5 ) He shall make reports to the Vice-Chancellor on the work of the different Departments of the Faculty. ( 6 ) He shall supervise the registration and progress of the students in the colleges of the Faculty. ( 7 ) He shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the proper use of buildings assigned to the colleges, schools and research institutions and of the equipment thereof. ( 8 ) He shall prepare the budgets in consultation with the appropriate officers and staff members in the technical area. ( 9 ) Each Dean shall have such other powers and perform such other duties as are laid down by or under this Act and as may be prescribed.
