Section 39A

Establishment of State Agricultural Marketing Board.

( 1 ) The State Government may, for co-ordinating the activities of Market Committees and for exercising such other powers and performing such functions as are conferred or entrusted under this Act, by notification in the Official Gazette , establish, with effect from such date as may be specified in such notification, a State Agricultural Marketing Board to be called "The Maharashtra State Agricultural Marketing Board" 1 [* *]. ( 2 ) The State Marketing Board shall be a body corporate by the name aforesaid and shall have perpetual succession and a common seal, and may in its corporate name sue and be sued and shall be competent to contract, acquire and hold property, both movable and immovable, and to do all other things necessary for the purpose for which it is established. ( 3 ) Notwithstanding anything contained in any law for the time being in force, the State Marketing Board shall, for all purposes, be deemed to be a local authority.
