In sectioD 8 of thc pliucipal Ac1, lbr sub-sections (l), (2) and (4), rhe tbllowing sub- sections shall be substiluted, narncly:- "(l) There slull be a Managing Conmiltee, lbr every Projecr Commiftee, consisting ot' all members of Ccnelal Body ol the Pr.oject Corlnrittee. (2) (a) The District Collectol shall causc iu.rangenlents iu such nranner as ntay be prescribed lbr the electioD by the rnerhod ol'secrct ballot of Chairperson f:.orr amongst the rnembers of Managing Com:nittee of the Project Committee. (b) The Chairyerson of tbe Project CommiLtec of Major Projects shall be slected amorgsr the Presidents of Distributo:y Committee of the project area while the Chairperson of Medium Projects shall be elected amongst the Presidents of Water Users' Association of the project area. (c) Il at an election belcl under clause (a) and (b), the Chair.person is nor el€cred, fresh elections shall be held in plescribed manner. (4) The term of office of the Chairperson and rhe members of the Managing Committee of Project Committee shall, if not recalled or r.emoyed ordisqualified under the provisions of the Act earlier, be coterminous with the term of General Body specified in sub-secrion(3) of Section 7.".
