Powers of Gram Panchayat as to public health facilities and safety.-Subject to the rules as the State Government may make in this behalf the Gram Panchayat shall have power:- (I)to regulate the offensive or dangerous trade; (iiIto remove the structures and trees; (iii) to maintain the sanitation, conservancy, drainage, waier works, sources of water supply; (Iv)to regulaJe the use. of water;, .._ " M to regulate '~la~ght.~r~Tarli~als;' , , (vi) to regulate establishment of workshops, factories and other industIial units; (vii)to ensure environmental control; and (viii)to carry out such functions as are necessary by or under the provisions of this Act.
