Grant of leave of absence to Commissiner.- (1) The Government may in consultation with the Municipality grant leave of absence to the Chief Executive Officer. (ii) During the absence on leave of the Chief Executive Officer the Government shall appoint a person to act as the Chief Executive Officer. (iii) Every person so appointed shall exercise the powers conferred and perform the duties imposed on the Chief Executive Officer by this Act or by any other enactment for the time being in force, and shall be subject to the same liabilities, restrictions and conditions to which the Chief Executive Officer is liable and shall receive such monthly salary and allowances, as the Government may determine.
