Co-operation of Police- (1) The District Superintendent of Police, and his subordinates shall, as far as may be, co operate with the Commissioner for carrying out the purpose s of this Act and for the maintenance of public health, safety and convenience within the limits of the Corporation. (2) It shall be the duty of every police officer within the limits of the Corporation- (i) to communicate without delay to the Commissioner any formation which he receives of a design to commit or of the commission of any offence against this Act or any rule or byelaw made there under; and (ii) to assist any corporation officer or servant reasonably demanding his aid for the lawful exercise of any power vested in the corporation or in any Corporation Officer or servant under this Act or any rules or byelaws made there under. (3) Any officer or servant of the Corporation, when empowered so to do by a general or special order of the Government, may exercise such of the powers of a police officer for such of the purposes of this Act as may be specified in the order.
