The responsibility for maintenance of field channels shall rest with the beneficiaries of the lands situated on either side or at the tail of the field channels so constructed and the amount incurred by the Executive Engineer in pursuance of the provision under subsection (2) of section 75-E Shall be recovered from such beneficiaries responsible for such maintenance with due regards to the area benefited by such field channels The share of Government land shall be borne by the beneficiaries only.
