Power to order repairs to be done. - When any person is convicted of an offence under section 94, or the mischief under the Indian Penal Code in relation to any canal, the court may order him to remove the obstruction or repair the damage or replace or repair the land-marks, level marks water-gauge or apparatus, In respect of which the offence was committed, within a period to be fixed in such order; and if such person neglects or refuses to obey such order within the period so fixed, the Executive Engineer may carry out the work in accordance with such order, and the cost thereof shall be recoverable from such person by the Collector as arrears of land-revenue.
