Power to enforce maintenance of grant-in irrigation works.- Where any grant-In-aid irrigation work been constructed or improved by or on behalf of a permanent holder he and his representatives-in- interest shall, in accord with rules made under this Act, keep such work fit for the Purpose for which it was constructed or improved. If so, is at any time or in any manner rendered unfit or appears likely to be rendered unfit for such purpose, the permanent h, his representatives-in-interest shall at once report the m. the Executive Engineer and shall carry out such repairs Collector on consideration of the Executive Engineer's rep' prescribe. If the permanent holder or his representatives-interest fails to make such a report or to comply with the C. order within such time as the Collector may specify, the grant from the State Government for that work may be rein from the permanent holder or his representatives-in-i in such installments and with such interest as may have agreed upon between the permanent holder and the Government at the time when such grant was received him.
