The Madhya Bharat Slum Improvement (Acquisition of Land) Act, 1956 (32 of 1956) Throughout the Act for "Government" substitute "State Government". Section 1- (1) For sub-section (2), substitute,-- "(2) It extends to the whole of Madhya Pradesh". 38 (2) For sub-section (3), substitute-- "(3) It shall come into force in all the cities and towns of Madhya Pradesh having a population of more than five thousand on such date as the State Government may be notification in the Official Gazette, appoint" Section 3- (1) In sub-section (1), after the word "area" occurring for the first time and before the word "is" following immediately insert-- "to which this Act applies". (2) In sub-section (2) for "any land in a slum area" substitute "any land in a slum area or its vicinity".
