Short title, extent and commencement. ––(1) This Act may be called the Prevention of Ribbon Development Act, 2007. (2) It shall extend to the whole of Jammu and Kashmir State excepting the areas 2[other than roads maintained by the 3[Central Government or the Public Works Department of the State]] included within the limits of municipalities and town areas. 4(3) It shall come into force on such date as the Government may, by notification, direct.
