Short title, extent and commencement.––(1) This Act may be cited as the Jammu and Kashmir Excise Act, 1958. (2) It extends to the whole of the territories of 2[the State]. (3) It shall come into force in any local area within the said territories to such extent and from such date as 3[the Government] by notification shall direct.
