Disciplinary powers and discipline among students. (1) All powers relating to discipline and disciplinary action in relation to the students of the University Departments and institutions and colleges, maintained by the University, shall vest in the Vice-Chancellor. (2) The Vice-Chancellor may, by order, delegate all or any of his powers under this Act as he deems fit, to such other officers or body as he may nominate or create in that behalf. 62.Conferring of degrees, diplomas and certificates. (1) The Board of Management may institute and confer such degrees, diplomas, certificates and other academic distinctions as may be recommended by the Academic Council. (2) The Board of Management may take a decision on the proposal of the Management Council provided that the Management Council shall not entertain or consider any proposal in that behalf without the Vice-Chancellor having obtained prior approval of the Chancellor. (3) The convocation of the University shall be held at least once during an academic year in the manner prescribed by Statutes for conferring degrees, post-graduate degree or diplomas or for any other purpose.
