(1) Subject to the reservation policy of the Government for the weaker sections of society, admission, to all courses in the University departments, colleges and schools shall be made on the basis of competitive merit in accordance with the rules, if any, made by the Government: Provided that where rules have been framed by the Government in the interest of the students of the entire State, the University shall adopt and publish the same in the Gazette, at least six months before the beginning of any academic session: [x x x x] (2) At the beginning of each academic year, the University shall prepare and publish an academic calendar for all programmes including a Schedule of Examinations: Provided that no examination or result of an examination shall be held invalid only for the reason that the University has not followed the Schedule. Omitted by Act 18 of 2021 published in K. G. Ext. No. 3384 dt. 15/11/2021 (w.e.f. 26/02/2021). Prior to the Omission it read as: "Provided further that having regard to the maintenance of discipline, the authority concerned shall have the power to refuse admission to a student."
