Penalty on owner or occupier for failure to give notice under section 3.—If the owner or occupier of the place in which any treasure trove is found, being aware of the finding thereof, fails to give notice as required by sub-section (2) of section 3, he shall, on conviction before a Magistrate, be punishable with imprisonment which may extend to six months, or with fine, or with both.
