Any Magistrate or Bench of Magistrates empowered for the time being to try in a summary way the offences specified in Section 258 of the Travancore Code of Criminal Procedure, 1117 or Section 236 of the Cochin Code of Criminal Procedure, as the case may be, any on an application in this behalf being made by the prosecution, try in accordance with the provisions contained in Sections 261 to 264 of the Travancore Code of Criminal Procedure 1117 or Sections 237 A to 240 of the Cochin Code of Criminal Procedure, as the case may be, any offence punishable under Chapter II.
