(1) The Travancore Prisons Act, I of 1071 and the Cochin Prisons Act, VI of 1076 are hereby repealed. (2) All rules and appointments made, directions given, and orders issued which are in force on the day that this Act comes into force, shall, so far as they are consistent with this Act, be deemed to have been respectively made, given and issued under this Act. (3) The prisons established under the Travancore Prisons Act of 1071 and the cochin Prisons Act VI of 1076, shall be deemed to be prisons established under this Act.
