Enquiries under Section 38 of this Act shall be conducted in the presence of the parties interested in such inquiry or their authorised agents, and the officers of the Devaswom Department holding such enquiry shall have the powers of a Civil Court for summoning and enforcing the attendance of witnesses or causing the production of documents or the administering of oaths to persons summoned and the examination of persons summoned as witnesses.
