District Planning Committee and Plans for the District.—(l) The District Planning Committee constituted by the Government under section 53 of the Kerala Municipality Act, 1994 shall prepare the development plan for the district as a whole under sub-section (10) thereof, which shall comprise of a long term Perspective Plan and five year Execution Plans and exercise such other functions assigned to it under this Act; (2) The district level officer of the Department of Town and Country Planning of the Government shall render necessary technical assistance to the District Planning Committee in matters relating to Spatial Planning, and the district office of the Department of Town and Country Planning shall function as the Spatial Planning Wing of the District Planning Committee.
