Any person who obstructs, hinders, molests or assaults an authorized officer or any other public servant assisting him in the performance of his duties under this Act, or does anything which is likely to prevent or obstruct any search or production of evidence, shall on conviction be liable to a fine of not less than ten thousand rupees but not exceeding fifty thousand rupees and imprisonment for a period not less than fifteen days but not exceeding one year.
