Term of office of members.— (1) Save as otherwise provided in this Act, the term of office of the members other than the ex-officio members shall be for a period of five years from the date on which the first meeting of such Council is held. (2) An outgoing member on completion of term, shall continue in office until his successor is elected or nominated, as the case may be. (3) An outgoing member on completion of term, shall be eligible for re-election or renomination one more time, if otherwise qualified. 44
