Section 27

The Pro-Vice-Chancellor.--

(1) The Pro-Vice-Chancellor shall be appointed by the Chancellor from the panel submitted by the Pro Chancellor. (2) The Pro-Vice-Chancellor shall not have completed sixty-five years of age at the time of his appointment. (3) The Pro-Vice-Chancellor shall be a whole time salaried officer of the University. (4) The Pro-Vice-Chancellor shall hold office for a term of four years from the date on which he enters upon his office and shall be eligible for reappointment. (5) The salary and other conditions of service of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor shall be such as may be prescribed by the Statutes. (6) Subject to the provisions of the Act, Statutes, Ordinances and Regulations, the powers and functions of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor shall be determined by the Chancellor in consultation with the Vice-Chancellor.] Inserted by the Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit (Amendment) Act, 2008 (Act 7 of 2009) (w.e.f. 09/06/2008).
