Notwithstanding any law, custom or contract to the contrary, the following provisions shall apply in regard to the persons employed in the Melkanganam Branch of the Sree Pandaravaka Department immediately before the appointed day, namely:-- (a) The Government shall have power to terminate the services of any such person after giving him one calendar month's notice or paying him one month's pay in lieu of such notice; (b) persons whose services are retained shall be governed by such rules as the Government may make in regard to them.
