(1) Any person aggrieved by an award of the District Collector made under Section 8 may, within sixty days from the date of such award, prefer an appeal to the District Court within whose jurisdiction the immovable property is situate: Provided that the District Court may entertain an appeal after the expiry of the said period of sixty days, if it is satisfied that the appellant was prevented by sufficient cause from filing the appeal in time. (2) On receipt of an appeal under sub-section (1), the District Court shall, after such inquiry as it deems necessary, pass such orders on the appeal as it thinks fit. (3) An order of the District Court under sub-section (2) shall be final.
