Membership in the Fund

Membership in the Fund.- (1) Every person who is a ration dealer shall register himself as a member of the Fund. (2) A person who is a ration dealer at the commencement of this Act shall, within six months from such commencement, and a person who becomes a ration dealer after the commencement of this Act shall, within three months of his appointment under the Kerala Rationing Order, 1966, as an authorised retail distributor, apply to the Managing Committee or any officer authorised by the Managing Committee in that behalf, for admission as a member of the Fund. (3) An application under sub-section (2) shall be in such form and shall contain such particulars and shall be filed in such manner as may be provided in the Scheme. (4) On receipt of an application under sub-section (2), the Managing Committee or the officer authorised by it in this behalf shall, after making such enquiry, as may be deemed necessary, admit the applicant as a member of the Fund. (5) Every application under sub-section (2) shall be accompanied by a fee, as may be fixed by the Managing Committee, from time to time, with the approval of the Government.
