Definitions.- In this Act unless the context otherwise requires,- (a) ‘contribution’ means the sum of money payable to the fund under section 6; (b) ‘family’ means wife or husband, as the case may be, minor sons and unmarried daughters, dependent parents and mentally retarded sons; (c) ‘Fund’ means the Kerala Ration dealers’ Welfare fund established under section 3; (d) ‘Managing Committee’ means the Kerala Ration Dealers’ Welfare Fund Managing Committee constituted under sub-section (1) of section 9; (e) ‘member’ means a member of the Fund; (f) ‘prescribed’ means prescribed by rules made under this Act; (g) ‘ration dealer’ means a person appointed as an authorised retail distributor under sub-clause (1) of clause 45 of the Kerala Rationing Order, 1966 and includes a person deemed to be appointed as an authorised retail distributor under the said sub-clause; (h) ‘Scheme’ means, the Kerala Ration Dealers’ Welfare Fund Scheme framed under this Act; (i) ‘Year” means the financial year.
