(1) The Madras Public Libraries Act, 1948 (Madras Act XXIV of 1948), as in force in the Malabar District referred to in sub-section (2) of section 5 of the State Reorganisation Act, 1956 (Central Act 37 of 1956), and the Kerala Granthasala Sanghom (Taking over of Management) Act, 1977 (19 of 1977), are hereby repealed. [(2) Notwithstanding such repeal, the Board of Control appointed by notified order made under the Kerala Granthasala Sanghom (Taking over of Management) Act, 1977, shall remain in office till a Committee under sub-section (1) of section 39 of this Act is appointed.] Substituted by Act 27/1991.
