Functions of Local Public Health Officer to improve Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, Child And Adolescent Health.—(1) The State, District and Local Public Health Officers shall carry out programs pertaining to Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, Child and Adolescent Health, as per the directions issued by the Government from time to time. (2) For implementing the programs mentioned in sub-section (1), Government Departments and Local Self Government concerned shall give necessary support to the State Public Health Officer, the District Public Health Officer and the Local Public Health Officer. (3) It shall be the duty of the Local Public Health Officer to implement all measures pertaining to prevention, promotion and management related to Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, Child and Adolescent Health as directed by the Government from time to time, in collaboration with other departments if it deems fit. (4) The Local Public Health Officer shall have the power to direct, in writing or otherwise, any person or institution to do or refrain from doing or to modify any activity with a view to promote and protect maternal-child health and welfare. However, if the person or the institution fails to do so within the time specified in the order, the Local Public Health Officer shall inform the same to the District Public Health Officer, and the District Public Health Officer in turn shall inform the State Public Health Officer and the State Public Health Officer to the Government and the decision of the Government thereon shall be final. 77 This is a digitally signed Gazette.
