Punishment under other laws not barred.—Nothing in this Act shall prevent any person from being prosecuted under any other law for the time being in force for any act or omission made punishable under this Act. 2[23. Seizure of vehicle, loading equipments, tools etc.—Where any person removes sand from any kadavu or transport sand there from without complying with the provisions of this Act or the rules made thereunder, the tools, implements, loading equipments, vehicles and other articles used or intended to be used for such activities, including sand, shall be seized by an officer not below the rank of a Village Officer of the Revenue Department or a police officer not below the rank of a station house officer or a member of the Special Protection Force. Explanation:—For the purposes of this section, the term ‘vehicle’ shall also include country boat, raft and any other vessel.
