[20A. Enhanced Jurisdiction of Magistrate and Special Magistrates.— Notwithstanding anything contained in Section 32 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 (Central Act 15 of 1898), it shall be lawful for the Magistrate specified in column (1) of the Table below to exercise the power specified in the corresponding entry in column (2) thereof, in respect of offences punishable under this Act. TABLE (1) (2) Magistrates of the first class or Special Magistrates appointed under Section 14 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 (Central Act 5 of 1898) upon whom the powers conferred by Section 32 of the said Code on a Magistrate of the first class have been conferred Fine exceeding two thousand rupees but not exceeding five thousand rupees. .
