Repeal and savings

(1) The Kerala Preservation of Private Forests Ordinance, 1972 (7 of 1972), is hereby repealed. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under this Ordinance shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the corresponding provision of this Act as if this Act had come into force on the 29th day of June, 1972. (3) Notwithstanding the provisions of sub-section (4) of Section 1 of the Madras Preservation of Private Forests Act, 1949, the provisions of Section 8 of the Madras General Clauses Act, 1891, shall not apply or shall not be deemed ever to have applied on the expiry of the first-mentioned Act: Provided that any prosecution for the contravention of any of the provisions of the Madras Preservation of Private Forests Act, 1949, pending on the date of expiry of that Act may be continued and disposed of as if that Act had not expired.
