(1) A person, on appointment as a police officer, shall be given a Certificate of Authority so as to enable him to discharge the functions of a police officer under the Act: Provided that no person shall be appointed as a police officer unless he has successfully completed the course of training as may be fixed by the Government. (2) The training period of a person who successfully completes the training shall be treated as duty in the manner as may be prescribed.
