Subject to the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code, 1973 (Central Act 2 of 1974), a complaint to the Police may be made orally or in writing or by gestures or by signals or by digital or electronic means and the concerned Police Officer is bound to take appropriate legal action thereon.
