Procedure in contested and uncontested elections. - (1) if the number of contesting candidates for a constituency is more than one, a poll shall be taken. 46Substituted by Act 7 of 1995. (2) If there is only one candidate for a constituency, the Returning Officer shall declare him to be duly elected. (3) If there is no candidate, election proceedings shall be started afresh for filling up the vacancy in all respects as it for a new election.
