If the expenditure incurred by the Government or by any other Panchayat or by any other local Local Self Government Institutions in the State for any purpose authorised by or under this Act, is such as to benefit the inhabitants of the Panchayat area, the Panchayat may [make a contribution towards such expenditure.] Substituted for the words "with the sanction of the Government and shall, if so directed by them" by Act 13 of 1999, w.e.f. 24/03/1999.
