Section 463

Power of Municipality in respect of private market.

A Municipality may, by notice, require the owner, occupier or farmer of any private market to- (a) construct approaches, entrances, passages gates, drains and cess pits or such market and provide it with latrines of such description and in such position and number as the Municipality may think fit. (b) roof and pave the whole or any portion of it or pave any portion of the floor with such materials as will in the opinion of the Municipality secure imperviousness and ready cleansing; (c) ventilate it properly and provide it with supply of water. (d) provide passages of sufficient width between the stalls and make such alterations in the stalls, passages, shops, doors or other parts of the markets as the Municipality may direct; and (e) keep it in cleanly and proper state and remove all filth and refuse therefrom.
