Section 423

Provision of public wash houses.

(1) A Municipality may construct or provide and maintain public wash houses or places for the washing of clothes and may require the payment of such rents and fees for the use of any such wash house or place as it may determine. (2) A Municipality may farm out the collection of such rents and fees for any period not exceeding three years at a time on such terms and conditions as it may think fit. (3) Where sufficient number of public wash houses or places are not maintained under sub-section (1), the Municipality may, without making any charge therefor, specify suitable places for the exercise by washermen of their calling.
