In every Municipality where the population exceeds one lakh, there shall be constituted a Ward Committee for each ward of that Municipality as provided in Section 43, within three months from the date of its constitution. Section 42 substituted by Sections 42, 42A & 42B by Act 14 of 1999, w.e.f. 24-3-1999. Prior to the substitution Section 42 read as under: "42. Constitution of Ward Committees.- There shall be constituted in every Municipality *[xxx] a Ward Committee for every Ward in that Municipality. * The words "omitted by Act 8 of 1995. w.e.f. 4-8-1995.
