(1) The Secretary may initiate legal actions against any person who contravenes the provisions of this chapter and may compound offences which are compoundable under this Act or the rules made thereunder. (2) The Secretary shall have all the powers for effectively carrying out the responsibilities regarding the waste management under this chapter or any other law for the time being in force. (3) The Secretary may, in exigencies after informing the chairperson, expend an amount not exceeding two lakh rupees out of the municipal fund concerned, for discharging the functions vested with him under this chapter or any other law for the time being in force relating to waste management.] Inserted by ACT 6 OF 2024 published in K.G.Ext.
